Here are some of the frequently asked questions here on Runway!
Q: What is Runway?
A: Runway is a gag comic mainly about young designers getting a taste of the fashion world through their internationally-famous school, Franz's Design School. The school is extremely exclusive, and only accepts three students every five years (which happened to be Keeko, Petunia, and Gregory). They all have very different tastes and wants out of their desire to become designers, and with the help of each of their teams that they selected themselves, they're main goal is to "out-do" eachother and become the best designer in the school. The comic mainly tells the story of Team Aqua (Keeko's team), and reflects their efforts in making it to the top. There's a lot of crazy adventures!
Q: How did you come up with Runway?
A: Well, I wanted to make a comic with a wide-spread base topic. I read an article on Fashion Week and got a look at the crazy and elegant fashions envolved, which really inspired me, so I chose my base topic to be fashion. So the rest of the comic sort of built up over the base topic, and it turned out to be a nice mix, donchya think?

Q: Why "fashion"?
A: I thought it would be a good base for a humourous comic, since fashion is mostly perceived as "snobbish" and "high-tasted", and it would be a nice treat to bring some laughs to the elegant vibe of the fashion world. And trust me on this: I am NOT a fashion type of person AT ALL. Seriously, I'm a cartoonist, and this comic is just as fashion-forward as I get, really. And the way I see it, the comic sort of sports the humour more than it does the fashion. (One of the most common comments I get is "I didn't expect to like it as much as I did because I'm not into fashion". Really, the comic is more than a walk down a runway.)
Q: How are the comics displayed?
A: The comics used to be displayed in pages, but I switched it to a stip/newspaper style at about the 29th comic. The comics are displayed with either one or two rows and read from left to right. They come in small gags, with an occasional miniseries here and there (A miniseries is a series of related gags that tell a story all together).
Q: What program(s) do you use to make the comics in?
A: I use Adobe Elements 3.0. It's a program that came with my tablet, which is a Wacom Graphire tablet. You can find one at pretty much any electronics store.
Q: What font do you use in the comic?
A: In the comic, I used to use Comic Sans, but now I use a font called "Action Man" that I downloaded. It looks much more flattering now. :)
Q: What's you're name?
A: My name is Alayna Cabral. Please call me Syas.
Q: How old are you?
A: I'm currently 14 years old.
Q: How long have you been drawing?
A: I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, honestly, but I started drawing digitally when I was about 8.
Q: Is Runway your first series?
A: No, I've made plenty of other (really old) series that you can find on my deviantart:

Of course, these are all before I got my photoshop, and I was really young too, so the artwork and storylines are REALLY bad! But thought they are horrible, they are where I got my start. Practice makes perfect!
Q: What exactly is your persona?
A: My persona is a bat/human/demon thing.... Because I'm really boring in real life, you're lucky to know me as this demented kind of whats-it. Yeah.
Q: How do you think the comic relates mostly to you?
A: I'm not a very fashion-crazy person, so I guess the thing that relates to me most is just the happy vibe and the bright colors. I'm really into loud colors and I'm sort of a happy-go-lucky kind of person, so I guess that counts for something.
Q: How is this comic different from your other projects?
A: Most of my other comics have been plot comics, with serious beginnings and endings. But Runway is my first that has been so professional-looking, and that I've taken to places by myself. It's actually my most pleasing project so far. :)
Q: What's your favorite thing about Runway?
A: In all honesty, I pretty much love everything about it. I think it's totally me (Even though I'm not a fashionista) and it's really gotten up to heights that I could only dream of before. Plus, it's really fun to work with!
Q: Who's your favorite chatacter?
A: Oh gosh, that's a hard one... I love all of my characters dearly, but my most favorite one has to be... Ronni. XD He's just down-right adorable. Everything he says and does practically cracks me up. And I definitely think his design is one of the most original out of the bunch. Right on, Ronni!
"Pssh. You know you want me..."
Q: Which one's your favorite comic?
A: All of the comics are so bubbily and quirky, I love them all... but I think my favorite has to be "Love Math". It's kind of an old one, but it's Squish at her finest. It gets better with age!
Q: Are there any characters from Runway that were inspired by people you know, whether in real life or online? Or were all of your characters just inspiration?
A: There are, actually, a few characters inspired by people I know.
Keeko was inspired by 22-year-old fashion designer Christian Siriano. Looking at his collection in fashion week, it really inspired me, with all of the crazy, dramatic designs. Keeko's main personality of being an "over-the-top, young designer" came from him.
It was unintentional, but they kinda look alike too, don't they?

You can also look at Christian Siriano's collection here.
Franz was also inspired by someone, taking on a little Michael Kors in him.

And I think that's about it, really...
Q: How often do the comics update?
A: About twice a week, though it's not really definite.
Q: How can I link to the site?
A: The site's link is "http://www.runwaycomics.we.bs". You can go to the "Link Back" page for banners of any size to put on your website, if you wish to link back?
Q: How can I contact you/where do I send fanart?
A: If you ever have a question, comment, or wish to send me something, you can send me a message by e-mail to:
syas82301@hotmail.com
Note that I only take serious comments and questions. I'm always flattered with a little, "Runway is great!". Just not anything stupid like, "I had french toast for breakfast." Really? French toast? How interesting! I don't care.
Please, oh please, do NOT be afraid to ask questions! As long as you've read through the FAQ first and you're sure that the question isn't already on here, you're more than welcome! Again, I only want serious questions. "So what did YOU have for breakfast?" Breakfast. Now go away.
If you wish to send fanart, please have the image in .gif, .jpg, .png, or .bmp format, since my e-mail doesn't open otherwise (I recommend saving it in .png or .bmp, since .gif and .jpg kinda mess up the colors on the picture.) I just LOVE to see what people draw for Runway, and I'm incredibly thankful for each piece submitted. :) Oh, and don't forget to include your name in the e-mail so I know who to thank!
Q: I have an error on the site that I need to report. What do I do?
A: All you have to do is send an e-mail to syas82301@hotmail.com stating the problem. Please mention the page it's on, if it's a spelling error, broken image, broken link, etc., and any other information (Like where it's located on the page specifically, you know...). Don't be afraid to report a picky error, too. I want the site to be as perfect as possible!
Q: How can I get my site's link on the affiliates page?
A: You can either comment on a comic, send me a private mail on smackjeeves (If you're a member, of course), or you can send me an e-mail to syas82301@hotmail.com, giving me your name, your site's name, and a banner for me to put on the affiliates page linking to your site. BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A BANNER FOR RUNWAY SOMEWHERE ON YOUR SITE BEFORE YOU CONTACT ME, OR I WILL JUST DELETE YOUR MESSAGE. You can find banners for Runway on the "Link Back" page, of all kinds of sizes, if you need any!
Q: WAAAH!!! Tone down the layout colors! My eyes are burning!
A: I've had many people tell me to tone down the colors, but the reason why I use the bold colors is because it gives Runway a "signature color scheme". Runway is a bright, colorful comic, and when people see this color scheme, I want them to think "Runway". The front page colors sort of give off Runway's style, you know? That bubbily feel and eye-burning color makes Runway original, in a way, and therefore, I refuse to tone down the colors.
Q: How can I buy Runway merchandise?
A: I have a shop set up here. All you have to do is click on the item you wish to buy and fill out your credit card information.
If you would like to submit a question for the FAQ, you can e-mail it to me at syas82301@hotmail.com.
